Music is such a broad subject that it's hard to keep a tight focus on the theme. Heck, I've made a full community (at least started it) out of one single style of music and at one basic period of time. So, I still feel that your topic is so wide open that it's hard to keep a focus on what is going on. Members are naturally going to be pulling in all sorts of direction unless you have something to tie them all together with.
