Creating A Sleek, Informal Landing Page/Portal For Your Guests!
Well after looking at other landing pages, i thought id share a few tips..
Check out my landing page for ideas: Broadcasting World - Your World, For Fresh Broadcasters, Updated Daily.
Also.. i love the Product reviews and prices, software downloads and tech news - CNET landing page
1. Always have an opning title like.. "Welcome To Your Site" or "Today On Your Site"
2. Find a neat content slider and customize it! I have a 3 tier one and i have a background image on each tier and a description aligned on the right.
3. Have popular topics listed somewhere near the top. Users love easy navigation and having links to popular things on your site will make them stick around longer ;) Trust me
4. Dont be scared to fill it up with a few ads. Get some fun and stylish ads for your front page.
5. Stick little ads somewhere..

That ad is displayed in the corner of my landing page linking to an article. Its useful and will attract attention, simply.
6. Fill it up to the top. Find content, make content, just fill it up and make it useful.
7. List your top 5 users (ordered by post count) so people will sign up and aim to post high so they get the *special* spot on the homepage.
8. Make sure its all layed out nicely and spaced out (not too much)
Feel free to post your homepage and i will give you some tips to give it a modern look!
