Do you compensate your admins and mods? On really large forums the admins and mods might actually get paid a salary, but what sort of compensation do we owners of medium or small forums offer? Do you offer free advertising for them, gifts or other perks? A share of the ad revenue? Or do they just benefit from the recognition they get? Quote |

I think top level admins may well get some form of payment on really really large boards, i.e. >1,000,000 posts, but I don't see moderators ever getting any payment. I think moderators should be in it because they want to put their personal time into the forum to make it a better place, not be a moderator because they're getting paid. Quote |

Re: Do you compensate your admins and mods? I give them respect, and might buy them a beer at a get together  idk i guess if my sites get real large i might compensate them somehow. I have GL running TalkPA and he gets all adsense profits, but he is more then a mod there, he runs the show. Quote |
