Do you do holiday templates?

On one forum I've been slowly adding to the template collection for the holidays. What was originally intended to be the Easter template actually became the default because everyone loved it and wanted to keep it. Then I made a winter template for the Christmas season (which is gorgeous if I do say so myself), but it was so graphic-intensive and using up so much bandwidth I'm not going to put it up very long this year. I also made a Valentine's template this year and just asked a member with artistic ability if she'd draw a Halloween template.
I don't do this for all of my forums yet, just the one because the members really get into it.

Re: Do you do holiday templates?

Last April Fool's Day I used the Encheferizer and changed everybody's avatar to a random image of the Swedish Chef. (Kids, don't try this at home, everybody hated it aand stopped posting.) This year I flipped the template (images and text) backwards using flipped images and CSS. There was some pandemonium but they kept posting this time

I'm not that great at templates, I'm happy to have a good default style

Re: Do you do holiday templates?

You certainly don't have to do an entire custom template for the holidays; you might just add some snow or maybe a Santa hat to the logo.

Re: Do you do holiday templates?

I just started a new thread with a link to a good "snow on text" tutorial, maybe others will chime in with more along those lines

Re: Do you do holiday templates?

No, but I've been thinking about it for a while. When we were on Invisionfree, I'd put up a temporary banner that had a message saying, "Happy New Year!" or whatever the holiday was. Since we've moved to vBulletin, though, I haven't set things up entirely. I've been focusing on mods more than anything.

Re: Do you do holiday templates?

Here's another add-on that might get people into the holiday spirit... I've installed this, but never rolled it out to the members... I don't like the images.
