Forum spamming going professional!

Just read a review of a “forum advertising service” on John Chow’s blog, which promises to advertise services/goods on various related forums i.e. spamming service.

I have seen this trend develop in the last one year or so, where almost all the spam messages being posted in my forum come from what seems like manual spamming by for hire spammers which are widely available at forums like DP.

Now it seems that it is taking a more “professional” outlook with these types of advertising services, this only means that workload on the admins and mods to keep this kind of dirt from forums would only grow.

Wow, just reading that ticks me off. I left a comment because that is just spamming plain and simple.

Re: Forum spamming going professional!

Thats the reason I have posted this here, I am subscribed to John Chow's blog and even though I don't agree with every thing he has to say, this is just too much.

Accepting the review of such spammers, I mean WTF? The guy has comment moderation turned on his blog, why the hell doesn't he turns it off and makes those links followed if he believes spamming is ok?

Also aren't there laws against this in US? I mean I have heard that spammers in past have been sued in US and have had to pay millions in damages, wouldn't that apply to this service as well? Also can't legal action be taken against companies which hire spammers like these, after all they are the ones who ought to be punished.

That's why I don't like that money grubbing moron!
I commented too, but it just amazing me how much the dollar means to some ppl.. I wouldn't of giving that loser a review for $100... I would never support spamming and that mr chow does, doesn't surprise me!

You'd have to be a real numbskull to promote this "service"... or be on their payroll. As if we didn't have enough trouble from the Chinese Nike spammers already...

Re: Forum spamming going professional!

That's just sad.

Whenever we could be spending our money on better services and features for our forums that could attract new members and get new posts.

Heck they should come out with a service where you pay like 100 bucks a year for 100 active users who share the same interest as your forum.

I know there are forums for trolls, so there must be forums for spammers... wonder what they do when members want to advertise

someone here runs the "free to advertise" forum right?

I was thinking more toward grabbing their main email address and submitting them to spam email collector rings....muahahahahaaaaaaa
