Re: how do you go about finding partners?

I found my partner by helping them out long ago. We are great friends and I can trust her with anything. Plus she has run forums before, so I know she can handle things when I cant.

But I think you just have to pick someone you know you can trust

that's a bit harder to do online... not impossible, but it's easy to get scammed.

Re: how do you go about finding partners?

I met my partner on a forum we both worked on. He was the Project Director and I was the Project Administrator -- as the owner liked to call us.
We both were hired to revive a forum that was very popular but died out. We weren't successful.
10 months and 3 more teams later, the site never made it and is now permanently closed as a viewing archive only.
He lives in New Zealand.

Anyways, since we met each other on that site we started our own sites. He had a hosting account and mine was just about to expire, so he said I could use his hosting account. Long story short, now we both work together and share costs, etc.

Re: how do you go about finding partners?

that is basically how i started. i met my older wiser partner on a forum he ran, we got to be friends, he had a big server space, we started making new sites and then he started bugging me to make my own sites and i finally took the leap and did it.
