How do you stay connected?

Forums are A LOT of work, young forums sometimes need even more attention. If you are like me you feel funny leaving your site alone, wondering what is happening for hours on end...are people fighting? do you have a spammer? being hacked? AAHHH!!!!

how do you stay connected to your site, or do you simply just let it do it's thing? do you normally carry a laptop? PDA? cell with internet? email? smoke signal? or none of the above?

I stay connected via laptop and desktop computers.

I don't feel funny about leaving the site alone for a few hours. I know that I have great support from the staff and trust in them to take care of things while I am away from the site.

I didn't mean to discount the staff, (don't beat me GL buddy)

but sometimes like if you are goin on vaca and the other mods are busy doing something, there are a few occasions there is no staff on....not alot, but a few.

also, idk, i know my staff is more then capable and trust them entirely, but sometimes its just like, you want to be there to see what is goin on..

Re: How do you stay connected?

While I'm at home, I don't leave my desktop!

But, when I'm away I can check through my wife's mobile or my Dad's laptop that I borrow.

Fortunately for me, I have a moderator that lives in Singapore. So, he watches over things during the evening for us (which is daytime for him! ) and then we have myself and three other mods throughout the day and night here in the States to watch over things.

So, I'm always covered

Re: How do you stay connected?

I use my Desktop quite a bit, and it's hardly ever turned off other than to just keep up with programs and things. When I'm in between classes I have my laptop that I use to browse my sites and see if theres any immediate attention stuff, but I try to stay away at least half the day each day to not get burnt out.

Re: How do you stay connected?

I monitor mine I dont like it getting to hot or I will turn it off. This thing came with my Mobo disk. It works well if I notice temp to high I will turn off and give a break. I have a switch here with 4 computer connected. This is the best one but if it seems like getting to hot. I will just hit scroll lock couple times and move to next one
