Certainly you don't want to have so many admins that it looks like a cheap ploy to keep members around, but on the other hand you don't want to find yourself shorthanded in a crisis. How many admins do you really need as your forum grows?

This topic had been brought up before and someone suggested that I didn't need any mods when I was at about 50 members. But, there isn't a member/mod ratio or even a forum/mod ratio either.

You need a mod, when YOU feel like you need help. There could be a variety of things that go into figuring out if you need a mod or not. If you're developing more than one site at the time or just have a lack of time due to another job.....it all depends on whether you need one or not based on your workload.

to give a idea here, i ahve 1200 members, about 300 active, very active and i have me and 2 super mods, that is it. DO NOT overstaff your site, big mistake.
