I'm thinking about starting a newsletter....

Guys and gals,

I'm thinking of starting a newsletter for my website to share info and to recognize our community (most active, most thanked, recent 'promotions' to mod, etc) and to also make sure that they share with their friends and other websites.

There are some newsletter hacks out there....

1. Admin Auto HTML Email - vBulletin.org Forum

2. Send HTML email via adminCP - vBulletin.org Forum

3. Send emails with HTML as HTML - vBulletin.org Forum

....and there are lots of free html newsletter template sites (for example: Free Newsletter Templates – Free HTML Templates – Email Newsletter – Templates Box).

So, before I start making my decision as to which combo (template/hack) to go with, does anyone have any feedback as to what I should do with the newsletter?

Keep in mind, I run a Disney-related website, so these folks are very 'high maintenance' (but in a good way) and love to create chatter and spread the word when they see a good source of news or a cool lookin' and interactive site. So, a newsletter works for my purposes.

I just need some feedback if anyone has used a particular hack and it worked great or a particular template that was easy to use. Heck, even if you have an already made layout that I could copy to help me out.

Thoughts?

I'm a strong believer that newsletters are a good thing to have.
We have a big newsletter thread on the forums already, we use GAZ from the vbgeek

Are you happy with GAZ?

I remember you mentioning something about not using them going forward. But, I can't recall the reason.
