Before upgrading to 3.7 I modified a little script to display random pictures from the Coppermine gallery on the forumhome.. It was pretty popular and encouraged members to add pictures to the gallery in the hopes they'd see it on the forum page. Now with the advent of user albums I'm not sure whether to re-add the random pictures from the gallery or use this mod that would take them from the user albums:

i think latest pics from user albums is a horrible idea, they may be on the fence about even adding pic to their albums cause they figure they are semi hidden. now they upload them and they show up for all on forumhome. bad idea.

I have random pictures from albums on the forum home. We use our albums to show of our cars though, not upload secret images

well I'm assuming the mod filters out the private albums, but I'll read through the thread to check.

I like this type of mod. I have it on my forums as well.

I understand the point that Chase brings up, but I'd almost rather those folks that were 'on the fence' about posting their picture not do it to avoid any issues in the future. So, this is a way for those folks to stay 'hidden' until they wanted to reveal themselves

The good thing is that most Disney Fans are very outgoing and want to show off and chat. So, this type of hack/mod works perfectly for my little community!

hey if they like it, they like it, if not then not...i used to run the photoplog mini thumbs on the forumhome but noticed some lag with pageloads so i took them off..
