Member Revolts?

Not just a "oh you suck im leaving the site" revolt, but a "im leaving the site and starting my own, competing site"

how do you handle that one?

you know they are going to try and poach every person they can as they are leaving, pm's, aim, emails, etc. spam threads, sigs, etc.

me personally, i find it comical. never really delt with this on my sites, but i have plenty with sites i have admined. in particular nextel/cell phone sites. seemed every newby was a pro admin, and we sucked, and they started their own site, only to see it fail in months....

every came across this? what were the circumstances? did you allow talk of it on your site?

we have a very small situation like this on TalkPA. we let them kinda talk about the other site, i even invited some trolls i know there ;)

I say let them competition is good for business. Plus with duplicate content I mean they can not hurt them. I would be fine and help them. And I mean why not even exchange links. That stops the poaching

Re: Member Revolts?

Well I mean just makes sense. Give them linkbacks and such. Trade links and you never have to worry about them attacking or trolling your site. They already have link on it.

Re: Member Revolts?

I was the leader of several "revolts". Most of the time it's because the staff chooses to be unfair.
