Members who reply to New PM notification e-mails

This is beginning to happen more often and gets more and more annoying:

Members receive the e-mail that notifies them that they have a new Private Message, and it includes the message. It says do not reply (twice) and to log in to the forums to reply.

Well many users just don't get it, so they reply and their response ends up in my inbox.

I e-mail them telling them what happened and what they did wrong, but they continue to do the same thing. So their recipient isn't getting the response -- I am; and it's annoying and takes up my time. lol

Have you experienced this, and how do you handle these situations?

Re: Members who reply to New PM notification e-mails

i would simply remove the message from the email so they are forced to login to your site and see what the message says. they cant reply to a message saying plainly "check your messages"

this is a good idea for privacy as well, cause if the message goes to a bunk addy and bounces back to you, you can technically see what the message says

Or I saw it suggested that you remove all but one line or 30-40 characters... enough to get them interested in reading the rest of the reply.
