Premium Member, Plus Member or Subscriber, etc.

I'm launching a paid subscription for my site..

I called it "Premium Member" with a VIP Chat area, but I don't like the names now..

I don't want the paid subscribers to seem like they are "better" or of higher status than other members on the board... it's not a status thing, it is just access to some extra downloads - data and software tools.

What are some other names I could use? I am thinking like "Plus Member" or "Plus Subscriber" What do other people call the Paid Subscriptions ?

I struggle with this as well Link, i call it on my site "upgrading" and they are "Supporter Status" or "Supporters" they get a list of things and a neat badge

We use "Supporter" and use these cute little icons.

I call them site supporters and we give them a nice icon. increased PM storage etc.

I do not suggest setting up a private forum for supporters. I learned the hard way it can create an "use vs them" vibe.

that is the TRUTH! it is elitist and can be bad. now the OP has a private section for his "greenies" (i call them) but it is more for d/l goodies and stuff, not so much for chat so that is a different situation and probably works out well...

OK thanks everyone..

I'm going to avoid the terms Premium and VIP and call it

MapForums "Plus" Subscribers or MapForums "Plus" Members

I think I'll try to always enclose it in quotes just like that :-) Everyone gets to use the free forums, the "Plus" members just get the extra downloads.

I don't think I want to call it contributors or supporters.
