seems like a silly question, but if you really think about it, im sure you have a preference when it comes to posting at large or small sites.
i personally can't get into super busy sites, it is hard to break into the "in" crowd for one, secondly, it is just hard to keep up with posts are flooding the forum constantly. like digitalpoint, i know its a great site and wealth of information, but i just cant get into it. how big do you see your site being, or how much is too much?
most would say, obviously, that our sites can shoot for the stars, more people on, better community, more revenue, etc. I bet many though, like to have and manage smaller sites. My site is small and I hope one day to be BIG LOL

Advantages of a bigger site are the quicker responses, wider base of knowledge and a lot of participation. But, on the other hand, you can see some of these as disadvantages as well. If you get a lot of responses by a bunch of know-it-alls, it could push you away from participating as much.
I personally feel that I can 'hang' in either environment, large or small. But, as Chase mentioned, the "in" crowd is so much harder to get into with the larger sites. So, if I had it my way...everyone would have a happy 'medium'. | | | Join Date: Jul 2008 | Location: Philly Area | | Re: Small, medium, or large? It's a good question and one I never thought about. For me, size doesn't matter! ( LMAO! I'm killing myself over here!)
For me, it is all about the feel of the forum and fitting in and being a respected and productive member. That can happen on any size forum. LOL yeah I hate having to leave them open like that and keep coming back

On a larger Forum, unless you have been there since the inception you're more than likely going to be on the outside of the loop. Add to that the fact that there's just no way to keep track of everything and have a real life too. I have stopped posting to many sites over the years, some that I was there for in the beginning too. My preference is small to medium, that or skip most of what's posted ...
