using the ignore list

do you let members know about, and encourage them to use their ignore list to try and stop in-fighting?

i know some of you guys dont really have problems with fighting, and i never did either really, but i guess with growth comes growing pains.

i find the ignore list feature built into vB to be a great way for members to be able to ignore a person that agitates them....

they like the ignore so much, i installed the advanced ignore features hack

Re: using the ignore list

I have told feuding members in the past to use their ignore list so that they don't see posts from the other member, as part of a PM to try and ease the tension. Not sure if they actually did? Would be good id admins had power to add users to another users list, not sure if this is possible just now.

I've mentioned and suggested the use of the feature but like the saying goes....

Re: Using the Ignore List

I can see where it can be useful if you have members who know that they're not going to have anything useful to add to a discussion started by a particular member that gets under their skin for whatever reason. Some folks cannot carry a debate without involving emotion which usually leads to problems, best to ignore it than to invite temptation ...

I think people need to cultivate the ability to ignore perceived slights/bait without the assistance of a mod
