View your site through the eyes of the color-blind

This tool will run your page through a filter so you can get an idea of what colorbblind people see when they visit your site.. Check out how my ice cream forum looks when viewed with the protanopia filter (that's the most common type of color blindness affecting about 1% of males).

Take a screenshot of your forum and post it here!

Sorry about that, the link is Colorblind Web Page Filter. I edited the original post to add it.

Blake, you can tell us how accurate the tool is, and if you have trouble reading anything on our sites 1% of males is nothing to sneeze at.

Why don't you post a screenshot of how TalkPhilly looks through the filter so we can all see?

Yeah sadly I am colorblind bad. But I am kind of used to it. I know I see colors badly messed up LOL But hey its like common in guys. Not much can do. The crazy thing is I have 20/20 vision. So I mean I can see great, just colors notso great. And When I look at the filter thingy it makes everything even weirder. I guess if your colorblind and look at it, it doesnt really show what looks like to see colorblind LOL

I was wondering what the filtered images would look like to you. My uncle is also colorblind and says red and green both look like brown to him, but the filter makes it look like pretty much every color is different.

Re: View your site through the eyes of the color-blind

is by neurologist Oliver Sacks, detailing his experiences traveling to a remote island where almost all the people don't see color at all, and yet they are able to describe their surroundings very vividly. I thought it was interesting as it provided some insight into how everyone's individual experience of color can be quite different, even among us with average vision
