What got you interested in forums?

What got you interested in starting your own forum? Was it being a member of other forums and thinking "I should try this!" Or did you have something you wanted to talk to others about but didn't find any good sites to do so?

Re: What got you interested in forums?

Believe it or not, I "fell in love" when I was a member of a warez forum back in 2001. That was during my studies

I was nuts in downloading anything I could find in that forum and posting a link back if I found a new link.

I came to realize that it was a huge waste of time, as I had become a collector maniac, with gigs of downloaded stuff, which never got used..

Back in 2001-'02 having Windows XP Beta and showing it to your friends was cool you know..

But on the other side, I also noticed that forums are a great thing to share information with other people so that is the main reason why a lot of my web projects were focused on forums.

Cheers.

e-books and all kinds of graphics (brushes, gradients, styles, wallpapers, icons etc..) were my favorites.

I didn't really collect graphics stuff, just the vectors. And I've been trying to read my collection during meals
