What was the single biggest traffic boost you ever got in one day?


The biggest traffic boost I ever had so far was the day one of my sites was linked by Manhattan Users Group. I woke up that morning to find a ton of pageviews, had to reallocate some more bandwidth to the site, and later even was called by a local radio station for a quote (don't get excited, they didn't use my bit). Anyone else ever had a similar influx of traffic?

someone posted a story on TalkDE about a cool halo 3 costume and a youtube vid of it, a few days after i guess the story reallt broke and i was ranked like number 1 or 2 in google somehow magically for it. idk what the stats were exactly but i was making like $20 a day for a few days in adsense.

i had 3,175 absolute unique visitors yesterday because i posted a big UK story about Victoria Beckham getting a hair cut on a huge UK forum and linked back my thread which had the images in it. I usually jump between 600 - 1100 unique visitors per day. According to adsense i had 8,185 page views and 28 clicks yesterday making a massive $2.39

Wow, I never would have thought a story about a celebrity getting a haircut would get so much attention, but I guess it depends on the celebrity Sorry it didn't translate into more money for you though.

adsense i have found is never "average" it will surprise you with the stats every time in my experience.

Yeah, that seems unfair. Did you see what kind of ads were displaying that day? I guess they didn't pay out very well.

i thought it was pretty low myself, is their anything i can do to improve the amount like keywords etc

hahaha no more haircut stories just yet but some UK folk are fickle and get excited about the beckhams when they get a haircut

might want to try targeting the message or post content foxy if you arent doing that now. might give you more relavent ads which mean more $$$
