What's your record for longest thread?

Right now the longest thread on my forum is 3,022 posts long, not too shabby but I'm sure someone can top that!

But, we're only three months old .... we're a forum baby at this point.

On my forum (which is 6 months old) the longest thread is only 176 posts long. It is one of my members' Journals.

However, in the games section the longest one is 178 posts. lol
It is the Word Association game.

What would be more interesting to find out is what percentage of forum's entire posts is the longest thread?

For me it's 1.43%.

Mine is 681 out of 10,513. So, I have a total of 6.48% of the total post count.

Chase, you have 4.19% of total post count wrapped up in that purty-little thread

I guess that me having a lower percentage means the posts on my forum are dispersed throughout rather than in one thread.
I guess that's a good thing.

Yes. That is 4.19 percent in DECIMAL form.
To get it into percent, you multiply that decimal by 100

It's just a random chatter thread, where members talk about what happened in their day. I've been blown away by the activity in it... so much so, it worried me at first.

Well, until one of our mods pruned our 10 largest threads by accident.. our longest thread was The Black Thread, with over 25k posts. Next up was The Red Thread, with 23k posts. Third largest was the Last Person to Post thread, with 19k posts.

All gone now. Those 10 threads totaled about 80k posts.

Right now, our longest thread is What Are you Listening To, with over 10k posts.

Yeah, sucks, but it's fine- all ten threads have been restarted, and we've made about 4k posts in the last 5 days. We're on the way to making it up. Plus, it's driven activity to other areas of the site a little.
