Re: When expanding your online empire...

Okay, so just to be sure...

Code:
<tr>
          <td id="logo" colspan="2"><img src="http://forum.vbulletinsetup.com/images/misc/WDBHubBanner.jpg" alt="" /></td>
         </tr>&nbsp<P ALIGN=left><a href="http://simplythebest.net"><IMG SRC="http://forum.vbulletinsetup.com/images/slideshow_1.gif" BORDER=0 ALT="SimplytheBest.net" NAME="slide"></a></P>
Is that right?

I'm gonna grab some breakfast, so I wanted to make sure it was right so that I could fix it when I get back

No, that's going to appear below your table. The </td> is the tag that closes the table cell, you want it between the image and the </td> like so:
Code:
<tr>
          <td id="logo" colspan="2"><img src="http://forum.vbulletinsetup.com/images/misc/WDBHubBanner.jpg" alt="" />&nbsp<P ALIGN=left><a href="http://simplythebest.net"><IMG SRC="http://forum.vbulletinsetup.com/images/slideshow_1.gif" BORDER=0 ALT="SimplytheBest.net" NAME="slide"></a></P>
</td>
         </tr>

Doesn't seem to be lining up right.

Code:
 <tr>
          <td id="logo" colspan="2"><img src="http://www.waltdisneyboards.com/images/misc/WDBHubBanner.jpg" alt="" />&nbsp<P ALIGN=left><a href="http://www.waltdisneyboards.com"><IMG SRC="http://www.waltdisneyboards.com/images/misc/WDBoardsBanner.jpg" BORDER=0 ALT="WaltDisneyBoards.com" NAME="slide"></a></P>
</td>
         </tr>
What did I do wrong?

Try taking out <P ALIGN=left> and </P>, see if that does the trick

Aha, that did the trick! Thanks!

Now, how do I make it so that it sits sorta centered between the logo and the right hand side of that cell?

add align="absmiddle" to the img tag... here's a page about image alignment in html, though actually this is deprecated in favor of CSS

Re: When expanding your online empire...

Nope...that didn't do it. I want to have the header/logo (The WDB Hub) on the left hand side and the space that remains from the "b" in "Hub" to the right hand side, I want the banners to rotate in between that space.

See Here: http://www.waltdisneyboards.com/view.php?pg=wdbhub

Code:
<tr>
          <td id="logo" colspan="2"><img src="http://www.waltdisneyboards.com/images/misc/WDBHubBanner.jpg" alt="" />&nbsp<a href="http://www.waltdisneyboards.com"><IMG SRC="http://www.waltdisneyboards.com/images/misc/WDBoardsBanner.jpg" BORDER=0 ALT="WaltDisneyBoards.com" NAME="slide" align="absmiddle"></a>
</td>
         </tr>
Any thoughts?

To get the banners centered in that space you'd usually put them in their own table cell and align them in it. But you're using a colspan there, so you can't just add another table cell to the row without throwing everything off. You could either put your header image and the banners in a simple two-cell table inside the table cell with the header image. Or you could add more non-breaking spaces to simply move the banner off a little more.

Re: When expanding your online empire...

Okay, I was experimenting and just about got the tables set up right with the logo and the rotating banners.

But now I have too much space at the top and one pesky little spot without that border. I'm sure the border fix is easy, but what do I do to remove the space above the header and above the links?
