I woke this morning to a message on my index, telling me so.
Checking the server log files, It appears that access was gained from a php arcade script i had installed in folder of my root.
luckily i make regular backups.
I have since changed all passwords, including mysql, my server hosts CP, site passwords, FTP account etc.
I am running the latest version of vbul, with the most recent security fix.
What else can i do? At the moment, the feeling is very much like that of perhaps being burgled, i feel a little on edge now. | | | Join Date: Jan 2007 | Location: UK | | Re: A word of caution well, the ips in the server logs seemed to changing like crazy, and with my limited knowledge, doubt it.
But its been done, so just need to try and make sure it doesnt happen again i guess Contributor vBulletin Owner | | | Join Date: Jun 2007 | Location: New York City | | Re: A word of caution I'm sorry this happened to you magz Do you know if it was just a random thing or do you suspect someone? What arcade script were you using? | | | Join Date: Jan 2007 | Location: UK | | Re: A word of caution I was using phparcade, but believe it was a custom template that i bought for it. Ive since found out that there were issues with it, and one or two othes suffered the same fate. Sadly i didnt get to hear about it until to late. Re: A word of caution im not saying you were using a nulled warez script but this is quite regular when it comes to using nulled warez script, you should always buy from the main supplier and then you have come backs | | | Join Date: Jan 2007 | Location: UK | | Re: A word of caution It was a paid for product, i never use warez, and have been in touch with the author, who comfirmed issues, and has advised hes fixed things.
But i shant be readding it . Contributor vBulletin Owner | | | Join Date: Jun 2007 | Location: New York City | | Re: A word of caution Hopefully by posting here you'll have saved someone else from the same fate... might want to consider naming the custom template... Re: A word of caution Quote:

sorry for going off topic | | | Join Date: Jan 2007 | Location: UK | | Re: A word of caution Sure, the template was purchased from Big Dog Arcade. The template name was V4 Grape. Ive received a couple of emails now advising that the author is happy to help get the script up and running again with the Fixes, but i guess for me, its a question of once bitten, twice shy.
It was a nice add on, but if im honest, didnt atttract the users i thought it would. | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
