If you do a little more (I know it is practice), it would make a cool blog template.

Background and text looks a bit weird.
And I dont like the glossy feel.

It looks too plain in my opinion. I'm going to tell you a good tip: before you design a template next time, you think of what kind of site it is going to be. A gaming site, gardening site etc. Then ask yourself what kind of people will be on the site. That's what I always do, I don't just make a template, because I can't do that.

That is exactly what I thought. Just add a bit more to the content part of it ( I think the bg is great the way it is)
