Question How to get the right dimensions forum header on a fluid skin?

I've paid for and installed a forum monkeys skin called Fusion64. However, the skin is fluid, which from interpretations means it changes size depending on the users screen size etc-I've tried a number different of banner sizes but some outstretch the forum on some screens but fit perfectly on others, others are too small on some screens but perfect on others..how do I know what dimensions to make the forum header?

Re: How to get the right dimensions forum header on a fluid skin?

A fluid header needs to be sliced into 2 or 3 pieces. If it's a 2 pc header, you'll have the logo and the header background that repeats across the width of the forum. If it's a 3 pc, you'll have a logo on the left, piece of the header on the right, and again the header background that repeats to cover the width of the forum.

The wider the monitor being viewed, the more times the header background repeats. The narrower the forum, the less it repeats.

it depends on the image. Some images can't be sliced to repeat. I'd have to see it.

Re: How to get the right dimensions forum header on a fluid skin?

The best method is 2 images!

HTML Code:
<div style="background: #RRGGBB url(bg_img_header) repeat-x;">
  <img style="border:none; align:left" src="header_logo" alt="domain name logo" />
</div>
You can put the logo on the left, center, or right, as long as it matches the bg image.

Re: How to get the right dimensions forum header on a fluid skin?

I like to use 3 images. That way for holidays, rather than changing the skin. I can decorate the right side image with a symbol or message for the holiday.
You can still put the logo either left or center.
