Linkback dropdown menu appearing after footer?

Hi folks,

I've just installed vBSEO and the linkback dropdown menu is appearing after my footer for some reason.

I can't understand why, any ideas please?

Thanks

EDIT:

I created a new default style and it appears to be working with this. So it's definitely a style problem. There's no way I can reimport the style which I'm sure would fix it.

Is there anything I could do?

Thanks

Re: Linkback dropdown menu appearing after footer?

you can try and cop the chunk of code that makes that header bar above the thread with thread tools and stuff and replace it in the faulty style.

Re: Linkback dropdown menu appearing after footer?

Sorry m8, not sure what you mean.

It's the vbseo_linkbackmenu template that's causing the problem, I've compared the current style to the new style and they are the same, I've compared the two showthread templates and they are the same so I'm really stumped.

I had a problem on my other forum with the vbseo copyright text appearing below the footer, I reinstalled the style (it's a new forum and not that many mods) and it fixed it so I'm sure it would fix this too but the style I'm using is heavily customised to be able to do that.

Re: Linkback dropdown menu appearing after footer?

That has to be your showthread template. If not that is really weird. Whats the variable that shows the linkback box? Maybe search for that in the templates and see if its in a template it is not supposed to be in.

Re: Linkback dropdown menu appearing after footer?

I reverted the SHOWTHREAD template, there wasn't that many mods on it so didn't take long to replace....but it didn't fix it!

Thanks for the suggestion though..

Re: Linkback dropdown menu appearing after footer?

$vbseo_bookmarks

Search for that and see if you find it in any template not your vbseo templates.

If you do then that might be where the problem is.

Re: Linkback dropdown menu appearing after footer?

I have searched for $vbseo_bookmarks and it only appears in the vbseo_linkbackmenu template.

I disabled the post thank you hack and that also failed to fix it.

I disabled social bookmarking and that made the menu smaller because it was disabled but also didn't fix it.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I also tried this but didn't work.

Re: Linkback dropdown menu appearing after footer?

I found the problem but I don't know how to fix it lol. I've attached my footer template, the code in red is the code causing the problem. It shows a border at the right of the forum, the border at the left of the forum is in the header template.

If anyone has any suggestions, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Re: Linkback dropdown menu appearing after footer?

Well as it turns out, I had loads of XHTML errors that were causing the problem.

Managed to fix them and I'm now 100% XHTML compliant and the linkback menu is working great!
