I might hire someone to design my vbulletin forum. Now the question is, once the design is completed and everything is uploaded, does it need to be updated in the future for the next vbulletin software update to make it compatible with it? Is this something I can do on my own, or do I have to contact the company again to get the upgrade information?

I would hate to buy a $600 custom skin/site to have it useless a few months/years later.

$600 is A LOT

and usually a skin can go without mods thru a few versions....

After vbulletin upgrades itself a few versions, then it's assumed the skin no longer will work without further modifications by the designing company?

$600 seems to be the going rate for the site's I've seen. Any suggestions on cheaper designers, but still of quality and will be around when I need to upgrade the skin to fit the vbulletin updates in the future?

I didn't know you guys were running a contest. Thanks for the heads up. Who knew asking questions was going to put me in a contest for winning things! I'm glad I found this forum. It's been quite helpful. I've already got tech advice, some vbseo software from a member here, entered into a contest, and recommendations for things.

I'm going to check out your recommendations, and see what quotes I can get from them for a skin. If all else fails, I'll have to check out those preset skins from completeVB and the other places. Thanks again for bearing with my questions and posts. I'm a newbee.
