Subforum Changes In ForumDisplay

I'm trying to do something to organize things and make the subforums display in a user-friendly manner as well.

Here's my URL: Glam Rock Bands - Glam Rock Talk

I'm hoping to possibly have a tabbed approach to these subforums and group the band names alphabetically with tabs (A-E, F-J, etc). Where within forumdisplay.php should I edit and add the tabbed approach?

I want to add an "If conditional" so that this 'tabbed' approach only happens within this forum, so I could use some help with that as well.

Any thoughts?

Re: Subforum Changes In ForumDisplay

I believe there is a Modification on vbulletin.org that would do all this, but I am not positive.

Re: Subforum Changes In ForumDisplay

Andy, there is a tabbed forum home mod which is something that I'll be adding to my WaltDisneyBoards.com site, but I haven't seen one for the FORUMDISPLAY.

I have added the mod where you pull all the threads from the subforums into that one forum in anticipation of getting this tabbed approach done. That one is here: Show all subforum threads in main forum for vB3.7.x (no extra queries) - vBulletin.org Forum

But, if you happen to see a mod that would help me with the subforums Andy, please point me that way!

Ah, I missed that you wanted it tabbed.

I'm sure there is a way to do it, wish I could help you out more but this was the mod I was talking about

Re: Subforum Changes In ForumDisplay

Andy, I have that mod on another forum.

I don't want to organize on the forum home, I want the sub-forums to display on the forumdisplay.php and to get them to be tabbed in groups. As it is now, it shows as a LONG list of 56 subforums with the threads at the bottom of all of that.

Re: Subforum Changes In ForumDisplay

Yeah, I read it over again and realized what you meant.

I'm not sure if there are any modifications like that or if you'd need to get something custom-coded.

I'm sure you've thought of this, and its not exactly what you want to do, but you can create a sub-forum named "A-E", then inside that have the list of bands from A to E

If you're set on the tabbed stuff, you can try messaging the author of that tabbed homepage and see how much they'd charge if no one here can help you out.

Re: Subforum Changes In ForumDisplay

Yup...I actually got that suggestion from someone else as well. So, worst case, I have something that I can do without altering things too much.

Although, I'd love to have it done with a tabbed approach.
