Re: BOTM suggestions

It would be best if only staff can vote, else it would just end up being a popularity contest.

Re: BOTM suggestions

As we are going through and rating all the submissions it's appearent we have a few different classes of sites.. We have some that are just starting with 300 members, and some that have been going strong for a year or longer with 30,000 members..

We are going to group all the forums together for the March BOTM, but what do you think if we split the submission of into 2 or 3 classes ?

Maybe forums with X post and under for in starter forums
and forums with X post or higher, go in larger forums..

or maybe, forums that are X years old go in one class, and everything older/newer go in another class.

That way we could give 2 awards out.. I've just made up my mind, if we do split this, I'd like it to do no more then 2 groups.. I don't mind having 2 thumbnails and write ups on all the pages, but I don't think I want 3..

so we have less then 2 days to figure out what we want for next month's contest

Re: BOTM suggestions

I think your staff should do the voting, that way you take out the whole Ima vote for you fi you vote for me stuff. But I like the idea of multiple groups to vote on. Sounds like a good idea. Also you should have maybe like a group who made the vote but don't win. Maybe like runners up or some qualification as to how many times in row you can submit and such. I dont know what your rules are maybe you already do that.

Re: BOTM suggestions

Okay, well then where should we cut the forums off at ?

Maybe 100k ?

btw, this is pretty much the last day for suggestions for the 4/08 BOTM as we should get the next contest and the 3/08 winners tonight or early in the morning.

Re: BOTM suggestions

Two Awards
  • Breakthrough Board of the Month - consists of forums that are under one year old.
  • Board of the Month - consists of everything else.

Voting
  • All Registered, vbulletin owners on this forum
  • Your staff has a greater weigh in to their vote that can be decided behind the scenes and added on to the general vote count.
  • A general guideline of what constitutes a good forum should also be stated so that people will have a more in depth way of deciding where their vote goes, rather than voting for name or forum appearance alone.

Good luck,

-Luigi
