One of my friends removed his due to the fact there was more posts in the shoutbox, than there were on the forum lol.

Personally I like them, but at the same time I think they are more for gaming sites

oh man, that would be a bummer.. but I have seen at least one SB that actually uses a thread in a forum, so the pages would still get indexed.
