| I'm posting tutorials We always talk about how to offer something other sites in your niche dont, how that helps you to be popular and eventually be a authority site. One thing I have noticed after the suggestion from Brandon is not many admin sites have tutorials, and if they do sometimes they can be pretty weak.
I think this last week of the posting contest should be devoted to making actual quality content. Not the spam that has been spewed across the forum during the contest but good, quality, spider food. Not only spider food but it is what people are looking for. I am here at vBulletinsetup to help people, i was helping people before the contest and I will be helping people after the contest.
I have been on lots of admin sites, and it seemed as soon as i got comfortable enough to really start speaking out and helping people something would change or the admin would do something, or the site was sold, or whatever. I have been here at vBs for quite a while now and I really enjoy it, I enjoy the staff, they are fair and do a good job, and Brandon seems sincere....I like that.
I am not writing this to butter them up, if you know me you know I dont kiss ass. I'm just saying, people. this is the last week of this contest...and it is a great contest with great prizes, lets get some quality posts in.

| Re: I'm posting tutorials well i just posted a bunch, get new posts and you can move them all at once.
I'm not going to win this contest, I know I'm not, i think it is physically impossible at this point and that's ok....but still i just wanted to put this out there.
and let me say, I AM NOT innocent with the spam, I have made quite a few spam post to pad my points count here in a attempt to keep up
you know what I think would be actually fair, giving the prize to 3rd place. JMHO

| Re: I'm posting tutorials Caddy, I've also been making an effort to improve the quality of my posts for this final week and look forward to reading your tutorials, maybe, following your example, I can come up with a couple decent ones too
And you are far too modest; I'm not going to make the mistake of counting you out, I know you're too smart and too fast to give up |

| Re: I'm posting tutorials Chase, this is what it's all about! Great job on starting these tutorials. There are lots of newbies that need help on the basics. It is such an overwhelming undertaking when you first start a forum. This is great of you to do!
And, I'd like to say that the both of you have done a fabulous job of responding to threads when appropriate and have really got TONS of information out there to help the folks here on vBsetup. I tried to keep up for a month, but geez...you two have been on fire.
I have to agree that there were plenty of "iffy" threads started, but lots of them were actually very good and prompted some nice dialogue here. |
