| Is a member online or offline? Can anyone see anything to signify if a member is online or offline?
Maybe I'm missing it but I don't think so... |

| Re: Is a member online or offline? I guess that you're working on the "Who's Online" Brandon. It shows that it's been disabled. |

| Re: Is a member online or offline? Why is who is online important? Does it really matter to you on your forums who is online and where in the forum they are?
Do you let members that are online hide their status from other members so that they "can't be seen?"
This I never understood either. Why would you want to go on a forum and hide and then post in threads? That just never makes sense to me. |

| Re: Is a member online or offline? Very rarely do i sit on WOL for snooping pruposes but i do get curious sometimes
mostly i use WOL while im at work. the auto refresh makes it easy for me to quick pop up the screen to see new posts and if im working it will flash in my taskbar if i get a PM. |

| Re: Is a member online or offline? that is one useful way to use WOL. like when TD was new i expected the first page to be about 1/2 members and the rest guests and expected to be about 3 pages deep total guests, members, and bots (20 per page)
now often i see members go to the next page (20+) and WOL being 5 pages deep, that makes me smile. |

| Re: Is a member online or offline? it's funny cause that was just "my" thing i did, never really told people, then outta no where in a thread a member mentions that "who's online members went to the second page", i was crackin up! |

| Re: Is a member online or offline? Well yeah a lot of times the guests are searching for something specific in google, your site comes up, they go to your site, get their info, and leave. A lot of time what seems to be a guests is a non recognized SE spider of sorts, then SOME times you get someone looking for a site like yours that when they get there, they register.
it's a crap shoot, best thing to do is make your site the best and most welcoming as it can be. |
