| My suggestions My suggestions
*Remove the 10 post rule for posting links.
*I uploaded a hack here and it said I needed 10 posts to download it.
*I like seeing the last post info on the forum home so change the forums so I can see who posted last.
That's all I can think of at the moment |

| Re: My suggestions If Brandon removed the 10 post rule then we would be spending our days removing spam again like it was before. That is there for a reason. This is a discussion forum and discussion isn't considered a bad requirment.
As for the other, that's up to Brandon. |

I know what he means by the other suggestion..
the forums that are arranged with the subforums hack, you don't see the last post.
I'm sure I could get them to show with the present layout. Maybe I can get Code Monkey to help me out. :2embarrassed: |

| Re: My suggestions Must say it is very annoying but there are ways around it like vb.org instead of www.vb.org. What about changing it to 5 posts? And out of curiosity what kind of spam. I have been on message boards for years but never have seen these so called "spam attacks" for myself. |

| Re: My suggestions you don't see them publicly but I just killed about 5 and saw already a few more... here we use several systems interlaced to detect and set them moderate and then a spam buzzer to kill all in one go and ban the account. It is just putting hurdles, one isn't enough anymore these days.. reason Brandon has several |

they help prevent spam from going public
If we didn't have any spam prevention hacks, there would be 5-10 new threads a day of spam. |

| Re: My suggestions ya, it really doesn't come up much..
The vBulletin owners are pretty quick to get activated, those who complain most usually end up running waraz or something.
( I'm not implying that your running waraz, just saying with the site history, those seem to be the ones whining about that message )
I might change it to just the usergroup permission error.
and about your spam question, usually someone will manually sign up, and then once the user is activated, they'll add them to a program and once they get 100 or 1000 forums setup they'll run the spam script and post on all of those sites.
