Version Number

I notice you've removed the version number from the foot of the page, and I understand your reasons for doing it, so I thought I'd let you know that I spotted there's a meta tag in your header that still displays it.

Took me ages to discover that the last time I removed vB versioning from a site. ;)

Re: Version Number

What WAS the reason for removing it?
Did it interfere with SEO or something?

Re: Version Number

Normally you would remove the version number for security reasons. If someone knows what version you're running they know what version of exploits to look for. If they don't know, then the chances are they will simply go and find an easier target.

Re: Version Number

Yeah, i guess your right... Thanks man, i never thought about that.
However, vB is supposed to be the safest board if updated to the last version, when needed, it's pretty hard to hack into them
