System Dilemma(sp?)

not sure how to spell that word, but anyways,

XBOX 360, PS3, or Wii?

ya everyone hates the wii, but ive played a lot of it lately at a friends house and i have to say its actually pretty damn fun...

Xbox 360 has amazing games so far, and halo 3

PS3...i like motorstorm, and I have some PS2 games that i havent beaten, so i may want to..i dunno

so anyways, since theres atleast one person here that owns a PS3, and others that own Xbox 360's but not sure about the wii...btw i have a PSP, and reading some news throughout some gaming forums ive heard there is going to be a lot more compatibility and features from PS3>PSP so ya...I need some opinions haha..ohh and Im definitely not in the wealthiest family, and almost have a job, just finished handing in like a million applications around town :P so im wondering is the PS3 or Xbox360 totally gonna kill my average old clunky tv? haha..Im gonna end up getting a 22" moniter with A/V plugins...

I played on the 360 and the PS3 at my friend's house today. The PS3 is just overall better, way lighter controller, free online gaming, compatable with PSP, blue-ray and so on. Not to mention the graphics it can handle.

Re: System Dilemma(sp?)

man im a real noob when it comes to high definition stuff..whats the difference between 1080i, or 1080p? i guess by looking at it its a different resolution, cause ive only seen 1080p on 30"+ anyways my mom works at a nursing home and they have a Sony DLP..its huge...so i may convince her that the poor old people may not need it haha it has lots of HD stuff, and HDMI ports...

anyways, as of now Ill worry about selling my PS2, which should bring in some money, and then I can worry about which next console i should get :P

360 for the games, quality and price.

But if you want to watch movies on a 600$ PS3, go for it!

Re: System Dilemma(sp?)

I own a PS3 and love it. Not a lot of games are out right now, but by the fall there will be plenty of games, betas, and demos, for the PS3. (You can download the betas and demos off the Playstation Network for free). On May 24 there will be an open beta for Warhawk, an action-shooter online game, and later this year there will be a beta for Home and Killzone. Also if you sell your ps2, you'll have enough money to buy the ps3, i'm sure of it, beacuse the ps3 online is FREE! Xbox live costs who knows how much to pay to play, and if you add all the fees up for the Xbox Live, you might as well have bought a PS3. Xbox has Halo and Gears of War, but PS3 has a alot more (better) exclusives coming out this year and the next, such as; Metal Gear Solid 4, Killzone 2, Warhawk, Heavenly Sword, LittleBigPlanet (which looks amazing), Home, and more. It wouldn't hurt you to wait a little while, maybe until September to buy a PS3. Get all your money raised so you can buy the ps3 and all the great games that will be out by then.

Edit: I nearly forgot this part (thanks Mathiasa). PS3 has Blu-ray, the next generation of DVD, it can hold 50 gig's of content. Xbox live has HD-DVD which in my opinion is inferior. At this point blu-ray is outselling hd-dvd by 3:1 (i believe). Regular blu-ray players cost more than PS3's.

I'm definitely looking forward to bio shock.

As for the "best" system, that is always hard and rather than "fan boy'ing it" it's easier to find out what you are into. Each system has pros and cons depending on what is important to you.

360 is good and already has a lot of games. wii is a lot of fun and could end up with some more incredible games that you won't be able to play anywhere else. PS3 doesn't have a lot of games yet (unless you count the older system games) but will have some great games and comes ready to watch blue-ray.

I would have a hard time picking a favorite but probably spend the most time on the wii lol. But I haven't seen a lot of games for any of the systems yet that I am really excited about. There are a couple for each system that will obviously be awesome but so far it's only a few that really catch my interest. 360 and PS3 seem to be fighting harder and harder to keep exclusives and over time, who knows, anything that isn't first party may end up on the competing systems. Wii shouldn't have that issue with some of the more unique games but then again it may be more limited with 3rd party support over time. I'm still waiting to see how fun Mario will be with the wiimote...or maybe it will turn out to be completely annoying lol.

Yeah, when it comes down to it... the 360 is for now, but the PS3 is for the future. in terms of hardware, the PS3 is much more powerful than a 360. the PS3 has 8 cores, while the 360 only has 3 and thats a fact. So if your spending around £250-£300, your gona want to buy something that will last into the future. + PS3 exclusives>>>>360 exclusives
