Overview
This hack will allow you to offer Google Adsense revenue sharing to your vBulletin board users. Basic idea generated by AlexanderT, who developed the hack for previous version.

* Revenue is split between board administrator and thread starters.

* User needs to enter their Adsense Publisher ID and Channel ID (optional) in the edit profile.

* The percentage of probability is customizable by the administrator

* Number of min. post in order to show the ads is customizable by administrator.

* Works on 3.5.x and 3.6.x

great tool for trying to get your community active. too bad u gotta go to this extent for it though ;)

ya, but its worth it.

the way I look at is this..
I could use the 50$ a month I make from those spots and re-invest it into back-links and such, but now we've got decent PR so I look at it as an investment to the members to get them posting

we'll see how it works out.

Sorry to bump this old thread up but how did this work?what are the pros and cons of this?

I think it helped with the activity, but at the time I didn't have many ad's on the forums and pretty low overall activity. I pulled it because I could see that no one was making much.. I might add it again, now users could actually make 50 cents to a dollar every other day or so.

Are you still running the ad revenue sharing plugin?

Does the above plugin work in 3.7.x?

Nope no longer in use here at VBS.


I've read people complaining it no longer works with 3.7 but some say it does. Its hard to tell unless you try for yourself.
