anyone allow HTML in posts?

I haven't enabled HTML on my forums because most places I've seen with it enabled have some really messy posts from users who think they know what they're doing. On the other hand, enabling HTML posting, maybe for just the mods, just might allow them to put some special touches on things.

I have one subforum in the admin section with html on just so i can test things out, that's about it. With security issues and all i would rather not chance it.

I don't at this time.

What kind of 'special touches' are you wanting for your mods to do? Figured I would ask in case you have some good ideas that I could 'borrow'

Re: anyone allow HTML in posts?

There's enough modifications around that allow you to do most thing that can be done in HTML without turning on HTML in forums. I certainly wouldn't chance it, unless the usergroup you assign you really know well, and they have high-level passwords.

It really depends on what you wish to do in a post... there are modifications around that allow you to insert images left or right aligned, etc. Video embedding and others.

I do not allow it, I really do not recommend allowing it at all. Too big of a security risk if you ask me.

I don't allow it on my boards either. It's just not worth it.

Hi
Re: anyone allow HTML in posts?

No from me as well.

Why is it even an option if the security risks are so high?

Re: anyone allow HTML in posts?

it's a option cause it's a option i guess, you may have a closed board that is invite only and you know everyone very well and can trust them all and allow it, or like me you may only have it on in a section or 2 for testing and whatnot.
