anyone use an auto-linker?

Does anyone use an auto-linker (like Geek Auto-Link, though I think there are others too)? I've been thinking of using one to automatically link commonly mentioned books on my forum to Amazon, maybe affiliate links too if it doesn't look too tacky.

Re: anyone use an auto-linker?

I thought there was some sort of mod that did this. Is there something that is a free mod out there that does this?

Re: anyone use an auto-linker?

I thought I had seen a free one on vbulletin.org, but when I searched the closest thing I found was one for ed2k links: Extended auto-linker (adds ed2k and sip link recognition) - vBulletin.org Forum

What do you use currently for your Amazon ones? I could use that on my site.

Re: anyone use an auto-linker?

For that I use Dynamic Amazon Links - vBulletin.org Forum ... it's only semi-automatic, not fully automatic You give it your Amazon associates id and any time you or someone on your forum links to Amazon it formats the link with your associate id. I'll often edit the posts to add links where users mention a book but don't link to it. Works well and saves time.

Re: anyone use an auto-linker?

Gotcha. So, you go in and edit it as you go along by adding a link to the product from Amazon. Then, the mod knows to automatically make it 'go' with your Amazon associates ID.

This would still help me greatly. Thanks!

I have that one installed on all my forums, just in case someone gets nostalgic for books. (Made of paper, you know.)
