Anyone use P3tz on their forum?

I've been thinking of how to give my members a treat (they deserve it), and one of the ideas I came up with was installing P3tz. Has anyone here used it? Did you have any trouble with it? Should I wait for the next version? Can I add my own custom pets? Can I make the pet a plant? Can I disable the battle system entirely (as I don't think my members would appreciate that)?

Hi Soliloquy

I have P3ts installed, and a few of my members love it.

As for waiting for a new version, activity on that seems to have come to a grinding halt. Ive been waiting patiently for that version, along with others for a very long time. The author i believe is Ill.

While you cant directly add new pets, there are a few p3t packs you can add.

Battle system is in built, and you cant disable it afaik.

You can add your own items, such as food can can set up attributes, for health, moral, experiance, levels, and if a pet dies, you can revive it

If youd like a look at it in atction, let me know, i will set up a test account for you.

regards

Re: Anyone use P3tz on their forum?

We used to have P3tz until we upgraded to 3.7 and didn't reinstall. Is there much change in it? My members loved it and have asked for it's return and I am tempted to install and give it a whirl but I'd like to know what it's like beforehand.

Thanks magz, I just signed up for your forum (username Michelle) and took a quick look. Is the monkey the only pet available or am I just unable to see others yet? So you can't disable battle system or create custom pets for your forum huh? My members would love this idea but I'm picky about what graphics go on my forum; have to have a consistent style.

Just went back to the p3tz site to read more and discovered the author made a post today saying that it was almost finished but someone else would be taking over the mod soon. He also talked about selling prints of his artwork and p3tz licenses to cover experimental stem cell transplant for his neurological disease.

Is it $10 yearly, all-in, or do you need to buy addons? The forum on there doesn't look all that active at all.

Looks like it's $10 for the "subscription" then another $35 for the license. Not sure if it's the subscription or the license you'd need to renew to keep getting updates...

Paul did say he would tryto add a way to disable the battle system, so I'm planning to buy a copy and go from there.
