I've had to ban a few members...who hasn't right?

Problem is...I thought once a member was banned that they could not access the forum?

I have seen the banned member's name appear on the Who is Online, and in the members who have visited section. How can this be?

Also..IP blocking..is this done thru VB or via your control panel for hosting? I usually put it in the control panel.

Also..with IP blocking, I never thought to look at both stages of the user's IP addresses. I ahve 1 user that has used like 11 IP's to access the site. By default VB only shows the registration IP.

When a banned user logs in, he only gets to see the message that he/she is banned.

As for ip banning, don’t do it. It is easy to bypass that by using a proxy server or worse still quite a few people have dynamic ip which is shared by other users from the same ISP which looks to be the case with this member as well.
