Can I lock down a thread?

Is it possible to lock down a thread or post so that once a person adds a post, they can not change it? I'm starting a thread (contest) that once the member posts their response, they can't change it. How can I do that?

Thanks!

I don’t think that would be possible for one thread; however you can create the contest thread in a forum which doesn’t allows post editing or doesn’t allows a particular user group to edit the post.

This would be possible through forum permissions and forum manager.
