I started to get a lot of spam through Contact Us.

The spammers are not registered, is there a place I can set so only registered users can use Contact Us, or can I use Akismet or some other CAPTCHA script to elimate this spam? What is the best approach?

do you use the image varification ?

there is also at least one spam mod for the contact us form.

The same thing happened to my forum, I had to remove that option from my forum for some days until the spam was over. That was sad trust me..

I don't use image verification, should I?

Also do you have links to either image verification or a contact us form spam mod? Are they referenced on this site?

if you dont you probably should. I SWEAR by the nospam! hack, it has a option to turn it on for contact us as well.

check it out.

But NoSpam is possibly one of the best hacks ever! If you don't have it, get it!

Yep, my forum is pretty small and I was still having 1-3 spammers per day register and a couple per week using the Contact Us.

Been about 10 days and I have had ZERO spammers register.

Of course, I have also eliminated anyone who can't add 2+2 !!!! :p
