database for cars

Hi,

as my forum is around cars, I am looking for a mod/hack/addon to build a kind of inventory of my boardusers' cars.
Basically I want them to upload pictures and fill in specifications of their cars, such as make - model - engine - colour etc.
A nice feature would be if people could search for specifications, such as list of all fords, or ford with V8 engine etc.

Is there anything around which could help me here ?

thanks
kh

Re: database for cars

Wow this was fast :o))

I just installed the vbGarage, which worked without a problem.
However...
In the control panel I am missing the menue item to be able to configure it.

In the Forum it shows up in the NAVBAR and in users controlpanel.
But when trying to save the edited the vbgarage section in the user cp, after having put text and a picture in, i get an error 404.
VBgarage is looking for the vbgarage.php file in the root of my website Einen Augenlick bitt, Sie werden zu khb's Cobra Forum geleitet (whis is a redirect), not in the real forums directory...Wilkomen im Cobra Forum - Powered by vBulletin
Strange, as all other mods are working well.

might it be that this mod is not compatible with VB3.6.8 ?

Re: database for cars

From what I understand vbGarage has not been upgraded to be usable on vbulletin 3.6.x, works with 3.5.x or below.

VbGarage 3.5 - Page 4 - vBulletin.org Forum

I was looking for a similar database/index too.

Re: database for cars

Yeah, vBgarage was for 3.5

There was a user making a better garage type system but he hasn't updated its status in quite some time.

You can always just use a gallery like vBpicgallery (which is what vbgarage was) and edit it to your liking.

vBGarage is for 3.5.x but I used to run a 3.6.x board for cars, and I installed the garage and it worked well. It will work

Re: database for cars

I'm not a fan of the whole vbpicgallery/vbgarage to begin with. very sloppy (although I'm still using it for now).

After 3.6.5 I believe there was a change in code needed for the vpicgallery, that could be the problem with yours AC427
