"Deleting a Thread" = "Trash Bin"

Can I have it so that when a thread is deleted that the thread goes to a particular forum (like a 'trash' forum that I can create)?

Or, is it only the move feature that can 'move' this to another forum?

I have a new mod that asked about it because he said that another forum previously had it that way.

That's what I thought. If anyone has heard of a way (hack of some sort) to do this, please let me know.

Re: "Deleting a Thread" = "Trash Bin"

one of the many purposes of having a trash bin that a mod can move trash to is that you can then take away deleting powers from them for addd security on your site. if you have a mod go haywire one night, and he can perm delete threads ho could kills lots of stuff in a hour or 2, this way he can't do that.

im not saying your staff would do that, but you never know.

Re: "Deleting a Thread" = "Trash Bin"

I have taken away the 'physically delete' option from my mods, they can only 'soft delete' posts and threads. I find this is better for several reasons, incase a mod goes loopy or incase a post/thread needs to be returned to forum view.

True Chase, very true.

I guess I should just take the 'delete' power from them altogether.

Good point Glennybee, thanks!

Now, how do I go about doing that? I don't see a 'soft' vs 'permanent' option?

When they do a 'soft delete', it still shows on the page to us (forum leadership = us)?

Or, what happens with it?
