does vb Spell slow down your site?

I installed vb Spell for a client once and never heard any complaints, but she had a dedicated server without much traffic coming in. I've considered adding it to my own forums, but I'm worried it might slow things down. Does anyone have experience with it?

It only works in IE? The page says it works in several browsers:

Supports most recent versions of browsers. Tested on IE, Firefox, Mozilla/Netsacpe, Opera and Konqueror (Konqueror implies Safari, but please confirm Mac folks).

Re: does vb Spell slow down your site?

I remember installing it before and it didn't work. (I use FF).

I never found the problem... but I never tried it in IE. Ultimately, I wasn't pleased and un-installed it. lol

Was that back in a previous version? Maybe the problem has been fixed.

I use firefox and its inbuilt Spell checker. I'm currently trying to persuade others to use it on my site and have even done a simple video tutorial showing it action

Using the built in spelling checker in firefox

No laughing here magz, anything to get them to use spell check is a good thing, right? Excellent video!

I love the spell-checker in FF!

Many of my members don't want to switch to FF. They say they don't like it. And they'd rather stay on IE.
Perhaps Firefox is too modern for them. LOL

Re: does vb Spell slow down your site?

Only a few of my more computer-savvy users use FireFox, so I'm afraid that tutorial wouldn't do much good on my forum...
