Drupal or Joomla???

Hi folks,

Does anyone have experience with the above CMS systems?

I currently has vBadvanced installed but I don't even use it as a main page, the forums are my main page.

I would like to add more things to my domain and not only a forum so I was thinking about the above 2. I've read a few reviews and they say Drupal is the best, most customizable, larger community, etc. Would like to know some personal experiences.

Obviously I would like to integrate it into the forum, latest posts, etc on the front page so that's important.

Thanks

Re: Drupal or Joomla???

I personally enjoy drupal more. It's much easier to deal with and the admin area is more user-friendly. Joomla tried to make it easy, but there are too many little things you've gotta play with for me to really enjoy it, and I really hate their text editor.

It's really all preference though, I suggest installing both and testing them out for yourself.

OMG...this is turning into a nightmare!

I've installed Drupal and I'm not impressed at all. But I'll stick with it for now.

Does anyone know if I can have Drupal as a CMS in the root of my domain and have modules which contain the latest threads from my /forums?

It's like discovering vBulletin all over again lol.

I installed Joomla and vB for a client, he seems happy with it but I haven't tried it much myself.

I've used joomla a few times for a few sites and it seems real nice, but was more then the client needed so i went with basic html pages. i might be using joomla again soon for a guy who wants a site about hybrid cars though.

Yeah that threw me at first, trying to figure out all the icons meant... there's a reason most languages have ditched pictograms, dammit!

I like joomla, i used it to build this site at first

Untitled Document

then the owner decided it was too much and now it's basically html images and stuff....
