Easiest way to upgrade to 3.6.1?

Im hesitating to upgrade Im afraid I will mess something up. Is their a simple way to upgrade? I looked at Vb about upgrading but it looks to difficult. Also is it worth upgrading?

upgrading isn't to difficult, the reason why I haven't here is because I have a few file edits and template edits that I'll need to redo..

A site like this one here, to upgrade would take about 5 mins, it's pretty easy really..

just make a full backup before had, and upload the 3.6.1 files except the install.php file, then point your url to site.com/install/upgrade.php and you'll be given a few windows to click "next" on, and you'll be done..

Then if you had added any mods that require file edits, like the arrange forum in columns ( that's the one I'll have to redo, and the spider hack on forumhome ) you'll need to re edit those php files.. and if any templates require to be reverted, you'll need to re-edit them as well..

i typical wait a few days to a week to upgrade, especially since i seen 3.6.1 has a few bugs and 3.6.2 will be out shortly..

I'll prolly wait for 3.6.2 to to a full upgrade..

There are some file "patches" that you can upload and your site will be secure, if you don't want to do a full upgrade..

Great, I will wait for the newest update before I even attempt to upgrade my forum. Im assuming I will have a lot editing to do since I have quite a few hacks installed. Im still debating if I should add the forums into columns hack..

Re: Easiest way to upgrade to 3.6.1?

Do I leave out the whole install file, or just the install.php file? Im about to do it now, all I did was rename the upload file to forum and Im about to upload the whole package...

Well just to let you know Brandon I upgraded everything went great , lost no mods that I know of but think I have to only edit the spiders...

Actually vbcmps all of a sudden does not work period lol. Their goes my .net page gone. I guess I have to wait till he updates it to work with 3.6.2
