| Re: Facebook Connect - Allow your users to login with their Facebook account I tried installing this on my board and it broke the threads, mst've been a mod conflict I thought, so I tried to install it on a clean testboard and the same thing happened. Might be my server setup but I doubt it, and I am no newbie when it comes to vB and mods/skins.hacks etc.
Meh |

| Re: Facebook Connect - Allow your users to login with their Facebook account It's a nice Add-on. It is something that should be here
- I placed all incoming accounts in a sub-usergroup of default usergroup (facebook) to track vs. pouring into the default group.
- I created 2 new profile fields to suck in first and last name from facebook.
- The email that is used is a proxy provided by facebook for security / spam.
(something the user can change later) |

| Re: Facebook Connect - Allow your users to login with their Facebook account yeah i probably should have waited longer, it worked for me and seems to be functional but i didnt see many registrations from it, then i dont have the perfect traffic type for this to perform anyway |

I've added the FB connect mod to this forum and my other one as well as a few clients and never had a problem.
What kind of issues are you having? |

| Re: Facebook Connect - Allow your users to login with their Facebook account Is this mod worth all the fuss? Are any of you seeing a significant number of members joining your forum from Facebook?
Thanks,
Bruce

| Re: Facebook Connect - Allow your users to login with their Facebook account I am not game enough to try this on my already established board however I am starting a new project (tonight) and I will be trying to install this in order to try and get the site a leg up - my main concern is whether this works on some custom skins or not - most people I have spoken to have said it works on their default theme no issues but I have a custom skin for my new project that I am hoping it will work on. |

| Re: Facebook Connect - Allow your users to login with their Facebook account so brandon, how exactly does this work with regards membership stats? i mean, i base my advertising costs partially on membership figures, do facebook users show up as regular members or what? also when it comes to generating mailing lists, will the facebook users be included in this?
finally, if it allows users to bypass the regular forum sign in process is this a potential opening for spam bots? i mean, do facebook users have to be verified??
cheers |

| Re: Facebook Connect - Allow your users to login with their Facebook account I think the mod is pretty sweet. The sites I have added to have gained posting members. Plus if you combine this with one of the invitation mods that pulls all your buddy from social sites with a couple mouse clicks, it really works well |

| Re: Facebook Connect - Allow your users to login with their Facebook account I've tried installing it on several sites, all different setups and stuff, and this is one of the ONLY mods that I can't install =|
It's a temperamental beast, and breaks each site I try.. Making the homepage a "WSOD" (white screen of DDDDOOOOOOOOMM!!!!!!!"
Being as good at vB as I am, I always managed to fix it afterwards, thank goodness! |

World For Moms I helped her add most of the stuff. But youll notice the facebook connect and then on the end of the navbar the invite friends..I think you have to be logged in to see the friends mod. But together they are really nice. |

Being as good at vB as I am, I always managed to fix it afterwards, thank goodness! | I've ran into an issue with 2 clients sites and the facebook connect mod. I had it installed here and it worked fine, but the day facebook was getting DDoS'd it was causing issues on our site so I disabled it. Quote:
