forum url change ?

I searched and didnt see anything on the topic so heres the questions.
When I migrated from phpBB2 to vbulletin forum I retained the phpBB2 url. Instead of changing it to something like community or forum or talk. The truth is I just wasnt sure how. Anyway. It was never really an issue until now. I have something like 300 plus pages pointing to the forum from my site that I can probably redirect.
So it would behoove me to change the forum name before I purchase Vbseo.
The forum will get reindexed after that anyway. So Id like to change it now.
Except I could use a little guidence.
any ideas where to start and how to do the redirect?

Id like to change the ext to striper_room or stripertalk something like that.

Thanks in advance.

Yes I would do a redirect
If you do add vbseo, it will be easy to redirect all the old pages and links.
I just had to do something similar to this for a clients site.
and yes, I suggest changing it to forum or something other then phpbb2

cheers

I'd also do a redirect now if you're going to install vbseo.

Moving the forums into a different directory is as easy as changing 2-3 options in the adminCP of vBulletin.

Redirecting the URLs is as easy as installing vBSEO, and asking for a little help

Good luck, and enjoy your new found SEO success!

Not a problem, if you were going to pay for someone from vbseo to setup install it on your forum, i'd recommend looking around as you can find others willing to do the same for a way cheaper amount.

After you purchase vbseo and have it installed, all you'll need to do is change the few paths from the vBulletin options that point to your phpbb2 folder, and then rename that folder to whatever you want such as talk or forums.

If you need, i can look up the exact locations of the paths you'll need to change

Re: forum url change ?

Thanks Madden . Im ready . sent you a pm

This from VBSEO.
I took a look at your site. Our 301 redirects (with vBSEO) will be applied to all of your URLs.
So you might as well get rid of the phpBB forum sub-directory at the same time. In fact, you might consider moving your forum directly into the root.
