How would I go about adding this mod to my vBadvanced page?

Global Tag Cloud in Side Bar or Anywhere - vBulletin.org Forum

In posts 76 and 77, there is a description on what to replace to get things going for vBadvanced. But, I'm not sure how to add it. Is it done by creating a template and putting the "$vbcloud" in it?

vBadvanced (latest version) comes with a popular thread tags module already.

Have you tried that for your needs?


Create a new template lets call it adv_portal_tagsportal place

$vbcloud

in the template (there maybe vBACMPS stuff that the template needs to work, but i dnt have a vbacmps install to provide you that information)

Next open the "tag_cloud_link" template (probably located under Tag Clounds template group) and put

<a href="http://forum.vbulletinsetup.com/f18/$vboptions[bburl]/tags.php?$session[sessionurl]tag=$thistag[tagtext_url]" class="tagcloudlink level$thistag[level]">$thistag[tagtext]</a>

Did you put anything else in the adv_portal_tagportal template? Or jsut the $vbcloud?

Try this for the template.

Still not working, but looks like it's closer.

Is this what I should put in the template?

I tried the previously communicated $vbcloud and the one I listed above $tag_cloud and niether worked.

I might just have to upgrade to the newest version of vBadvanced. Would I lose any of my templates or customizations by upgrading it?
