Fluid Hosting: FreeBSD and Windows Hosting is who I recommend

Our site is usually fast, I think I messed something up, so that's why it's laggy right now

Re: A good email client

Is that what you are paying for your email client... or for your hosting for the forum?

The whole package. If you go here look at the swamp plan thats the plan I use.

I just read something for some strange reasons I like to send out emails to all my members on Saturday which they consider off peak hours and not allow over 200 emails to be send on that day. Oops

Re: A good email client

Im paying 6 a month and I get 200gb of diskspace and 2tb of traffic...along with cpanel and other stuff.
but I plan on upgraded to a dedicated, I could use it, but its 55 a month and cpanel, which i NEED, is 30 extra a month, so 85 total.

Re: A good email client

Wow that is expensive. It will be awhile before I need a dedicated server.

Here?s a great idea Bail out the auto industry
Re: A good email client

HostGator is PITA. I had two separate accounts with them, I cancelled both within 24 hours. The first time it was over file permissions. I uploaded my wordpress blog from my old host most of the files had 777 permissions. HG doesn't allow that, max permissions of 755 and they wouldn't give me shell access to bulk change them easily. They kept telling me to install with Fantastico , I had made some of my own customizations to the php files.. I didn't want to have to redo them.

Second time, I signed up for an account with shell access. After getting the account setup, no shell access. I had to scan them a copy of my drivers license. There was no mention of this before I opened the account. When I finally did get ssh access, it was so locked down, I didn't have permissions for any decent commands, I couldn't even use wget to transfer files from my old host. Then the server would kick me off, I'd try to log back on but I couldn't because you cannot login X times in 24 hours.

Sorry for going off topic, but I wanted to tell you how much HG sucks, IMHO

There is no way around your hosts limitations on the email sending. You could use an email client and your ISPs stmp server , just spoof the from address to make it appear from your domain but you're best bet is to find a new host. If you're looking for a cheap host with lots of space/bandwidth and all kinds of awesome features, I'd say DreamHost. If you're looking for a managed VPS, I've had the best link with ServInt, they are a bit pricey though.

Hope it helps,
Dan
