Hi! I have a couple of questions if someone could help me...

I tried a while ago to submit my site to your directory forum, but kept being told that I wasn't allowed to post there. I would still like to do so, but I must be doing something wrong and I don't know what it is. My board is

I'm very new at all of this and really don't know much at all about installing things or anything else. I've had other people install the board for me and make the skins etc. I really don't want to always have to rely on others though. I really hate having to do that! Right now I have a bunch of hacks that I want to install and I'd really like to learn how to do that sort of thing myself. The ones I picked all say they are either "easy" or "very easy" for the most part lol as I didn't want to bite off more then I can chew. But I need to find someone who would be willing to take the time to walk me through how to do this with a couple of them, until I get the hang of it. I'd also want them to not just tell me "do this" and "then do that", but I'd also like them to explain "why", so I can understand just what it is I'm doing.
Does anyone know of anyone that would be willing to help me learn to help myself?

I just had the vbulletin board installed at the end of October. For almost 5 years prior to that, I used the phpbb boards and really liked them. But the last one was just too unstable and I felt I needed one that I could count on better.

The other little glitch I have is that when the person imported the info from my old board to the new vbulletin board, they named my old account "imported_Cindy" and gave me a new account on the new board called "Cindy". Both accounts are admin accounts. I really hate that my old posts all have that other name now, and would like to merge my two accounts so that I'm just "Cindy" in all of them again. I haven't wanted to do that though until I was sure that I wasn't going to wind up locking myself out of the board or making it so I couldn't post or some other weird thing if I did it. Does anyone know if I'm going to break anything by merging the two accounts?

You can fix that imported_cindy account real quick by merging it with your current Cindy account

go to your admincp > users > merger user and follow the instructions, then you'll need to update your counters which I'm 99% sure it'll tell ya and give you a link to follow after the merge

And also, the directory that we have in our forum, you should have access to it? Maybe we just recently got you showing as a vBulletin owner "the green usernames"

Thanks! I know how to merge accounts as I've done that before, just never an admin account lol I guess I'll give it a try then.

And I'll go try and post my board in your other forum again now too. I'll let you know if it works or not.

I hope someone knows someone that would be willing to help me learn how to do some of the stuff I talked about for myself though.

OK, I think I know what the problem might be. I hadn't done the one in the link in your siggy yet. So now I've done that one. I did go ahead and still try the one in the "post a link to your forum" but got this error message:

hmm, that's strange
it's working for others, I'll take a look and update the template asap
the byline is a short description, and it'll grab your image for you.
